IBO Player setup guide for TVOne
Install the app, add your TVOne playlist and fix the one layout quirk that trips up most new users. Roughly ten minutes from credentials email to live television.
Among the IPTV applications available today, IBO Player is one of the very few that runs on nearly every platform and operating system. The tidy interface is not its only attraction — smooth playback and a sensible set of core features are what make it the app TVOne standardised on. It is also the only application we support, which means our team knows exactly what you are looking at when something needs fixing.
Who makes IBO Player?
IBO Player is built by a development group trading as IBODEV. Always download it from their official website or from your device’s own app store — never from a third-party mirror, which is the fastest way to end up with a modified build that leaks your credentials.
What IBO Player does well, and what it does not
It installs on almost anything (good)
IBO Player is available for Android, Windows, macOS, Fire OS, webOS, Tizen and Linux. The developer publishes a direct installer for each platform, so you are never hunting for an unofficial package.
It is one of the few good options for non-Android smart TVs (good)
The biggest hardware obstacle in IPTV is the smart television that is not Android. Those sets run closed operating systems that force developers to strip features out to fit, and most simply give up. That is why so few decent IPTV players exist for Samsung Tizen and LG webOS — and why IBO Player being there matters.
It cannot record (bad)
There is no recording function at all. Not everyone uses recording, but its complete absence is worth knowing before you commit.
There is no multi-screen view (bad)
You cannot watch two channels side by side. In practice this rarely matters — and a TVOne line authorises one device anyway — but it is a genuine gap.
Playlists are activated remotely (a quirk)
Most IPTV apps let you type the server address, username and password directly into the app. IBO Player does it differently: you log into a playlist management page on their website, enter your TVOne credentials there, and their cloud pushes the playlist down to your device. It is one extra step during setup and nothing at all afterwards.
It is paid after a short evaluation (a quirk)
IBO Player offers a brief free evaluation window so you can judge performance, after which a small one-off licence is purchased directly from the developer. That fee is not part of your TVOne subscription.
How to install IBO Player on Android phones, tablets and TV boxes
- Download the installation file from the IBO Player official website.
- Android will warn you that the file came from outside the Play Store. That is expected. Choose Download anyway.
- Open the downloaded file.
- Select Install.
- When installation finishes, open the app.
- An introductory screen explains what to do next. We cover the playlist step further down — for now, press OK.
- The app is loaded and ready.
How to install IBO Player on Windows
The Windows build requires Windows 10 or later and a 64-bit system.
- Download the Windows installer from the developer’s site.
- Windows SmartScreen will interrupt because the file did not come from the Microsoft Store. Click More info.
- Click Run anyway to continue.
- Click Next.
- Tick the desktop-icon box if you want a shortcut, then Next.
- Click Install.
- Click Finish to launch IBO Player.
How to install IBO Player on an Amazon Fire TV Stick
- From the Fire TV home screen, move to the magnifier icon, press down to reach the search field and press OK.
- You first need the Downloader app, which lets you side-load software from outside the Amazon store. Type D on the virtual keyboard, select Downloader from the suggestions and press OK.
- Select the app to begin installation.
- Press Download.
- Allow media access when prompted.
- Once Downloader opens, move to the URL field above the yellow Go button and press OK.
- Enter the official Downloader code for the IBO Player Android build, 511693, then press Go.
- The file downloads from the official site. Do not touch anything while the Browser section works.
- Wait for the download to complete.
- Fire OS will block the install because the file came from outside its store. Choose Settings.
- Select Install unknown apps. If that option is missing, open About, press OK seven times to reveal Developer Options, then return here.
- Select Downloader and press OK so the toggle changes from OFF to ON.
- Continue the installation with the usual Next and OK prompts.
- Press OK on the welcome message.
- The app is ready.
How to install IBO Player on macOS
- Download the macOS build from the IBO Player website.
- Open the downloaded file and drag the icon into your Applications folder.
- After a few seconds the app is installed. Open Launchpad and click the icon.
- macOS will refuse the first launch because the app came from outside the App Store.
- Click the Apple menu, choose System Settings, scroll to Privacy & Security, then scroll down on the right to the security section.
- Click Open anyway, then confirm. The choice is permanent; later launches open directly.
- The app is ready to use.
How to install IBO Player on LG and Samsung televisions
The example below uses an LG webOS set. Samsung Tizen and comparable platforms follow the same sequence.
- Open the LG Content Store (or the Samsung Apps store).
- Select the magnifier icon in the top-right corner.
- Type IBO Player.
- Pick the correct result. Several similarly named apps exist — ignore them and choose “Ibo Player”.
- Click Install.
- Select Launch to open the app, then follow the playlist section below.
How to add your TVOne playlist to IBO Player
IBO Player uses remote playlist activation: your credentials are entered on the IBO website and pushed to the app.
- On the IBO Player website, open Manage Playlist from the top menu.
- The form asks for your MAC address and device key. Both come from the app — see the next step.
- Open IBO Player on your television or device and select the profile icon on the main dashboard.
- The Device Info panel in the top-left corner shows both values. Enter them in the website form and log in.
- You are now in playlist management, where TVOne credentials are added. There are two methods.
Method 1 — Add Playlist (M3U streaming line)
Use this if TVOne sent you a single long streaming URL.
- Playlist name: any label you like, for example “TVOne”.
- Playlist URL: the streaming link from your credentials email.
- XMLTV EPG URL: optional. Leave it blank and IBO Player extracts the guide from the playlist itself.
- Protect this playlist: tick it to set a PIN.
Press Save when the fields are filled.
Method 2 — Add XC Playlist (Xtream Codes)
Use this if TVOne sent a host, username and password instead of a single URL. Click Add XC Playlist on the dashboard; the fields match the method above with one addition, HOST, which is the server address from your email.
Fixing the Live TV layout
Out of the box, the Live TV screen tends to look cramped: channel names run under the preview window and the EPG sits out of alignment. One setting corrects it.
- On the IBO Player dashboard, click the screen icon next to the Wi-Fi symbol.
- You are now in Live Screen Style. The default is the Malai layout, which is the messy one. Switch to Thai and save.
- Channel names regain their space and the mini-preview and guide align properly. Categories are hidden by default — press the left arrow on your remote (or the back gesture on a touch device) to bring them back.
Favourites, search and the VOD section
To favourite a channel, press and hold on it in the channel list and choose Add. A heart appears beside the name, and the Favourites folder sits at the top of the category column.
Search is in the bottom-left corner of the Live TV overview and looks across every category at once. It matches on specific terms, so type a clean fragment of the channel name rather than an approximation.
The Movies and Series section is deliberately simple. Press and hold OK on a title to favourite it. Three controls sit in the top-right: the palette icon switches between Modern and Normal themes, the down arrow sorts by date added, rating or alphabet, and the magnifier searches the library. Your full TVOne catalogue — the whole bouquet lineup plus 118,000+ on-demand titles — appears here.
Buying the IBO Player licence
- Open the IBO Player website and click Activate Device in the top menu.
- Sign in with your MAC address and device key (both are under App Info at the bottom of the app dashboard).
- Choose Activate Device in the left column, then pick a payment method.
- Accept the terms of service.
- Two licence options exist: one year, or lifetime. Select one and click Checkout.
- Complete the payment details and proceed.
- Once payment clears, your MAC is activated. Close and reopen the app for the change to apply.
This licence is paid to IBODEV, not to TVOne. Your TVOne subscription is entirely separate.
Useful settings inside IBO Player
- Network: shortcut to the device’s wireless settings.
- Parental control: PIN-lock categories you do not want reachable.
- Check for updates: run this first whenever something behaves oddly.
- Language: interface language, independent of your channel bouquets.
- Clear cache: the single most effective fix for stale artwork or a stuck guide.
- Manage categories: hide bouquets you never watch to shorten the list.
- Live TV player / VOD player: switch decoders if a particular stream misbehaves.
- Auto boot on start: launches IBO Player when the device powers on — handy on a dedicated TV box.

Frequently asked questions about the IBO Player app
Android phones, tablets and TV boxes, Amazon Fire TV Stick, Windows 10 and 11, macOS, LG webOS televisions, Samsung Tizen televisions and Linux. The developer publishes a direct installer for each platform.
No. IBO Player has no recording function. It is the clearest gap in the app, and worth knowing before you install it. Everything else — live TV, VOD, series, EPG, favourites and search — is present.
IBO Player gives a short free evaluation period, after which its developer charges a small one-off licence fee paid directly to them. That licence is entirely separate from your TVOne subscription; we neither collect nor control it.
No, and not with TVOne either. The app has no multi-screen feature, and each TVOne subscription authorises one device. For a second television, order a second line on the pricing page.
IBO Player uses remote playlist activation: you enter your credentials once on the IBO portal, and their cloud pushes the data to the app on your device. It is one extra step at setup and nothing to think about afterwards.
Switch the Live Screen Style from the default to the alternative layout. Open the screen icon beside the Wi-Fi sign on the IBO Player dashboard, choose the Thai style and save. Channel names get their space back and the guide aligns correctly.
